Our History
Who is Jesus Youth?
Jesus Youth is an international Catholic youth movement with a charismatic spirituality. It has its beginnings in Kerala in India, but is now active in 30 different countries around the world.
Jesus Youth is an initiative of young people themselves, who, filled with the Holy Spirit try to reach out to other young people. The strength of the movement is its special focus on a life centered on the Lord Jesus Christ: beginning with an experience of God nourished by prayer, the Word of God, the sacraments and fellowship, and sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with others.
Jesus Youth is a network of small but vibrant groups of young people and families. In their own life situations, they strive to give time to the Lord, responding to the challenges of today’s world in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Pontifical Approval
The Pontifical Council for Laity recognized Jesus Youth as an 'International Private Association of the Faithful with Juridical personality’ in May 2016. Jesus Youth is the first movement in India and the second movement from Asia to receive such an approval.
This recognition by the Holy See affirms Jesus Youth's commitment to the Catholic Church and its mission to form young disciples who live out their faith authentically in today's world.

Jesus Youth UK
Active in 19 dioceses since 2001, Jesus Youth UK organizes formation programs, retreats, and camps for all ages. We host regular fellowship events, pilgrimages, and musical evenings. Notable milestones include multiple National Conferences since 2002, the 2007 European Conference in Wales, and major Rexband concerts.
Jesus Youth and Church in UK
We work closely with the wider Church, partnering with initiatives like "Spirit in the City" (Westminster) and Catholic Charismatic Renewal. We also actively support pro-life campaigns such as 40 Days for Life.
Our Six Pillars

It is structured around the needs of people as they live out their everyday lives in homes, offices, universities, schools, trains, playgrounds and streets around the world.

Across the UK
Jesus Youth UK operates as a vibrant network of 8 regions. This structure ensures that every person can belong and be involved locally, regardless of where they are.
Regional Teams
Each region is led by a coordination team that facilitates local prayer groups, gatherings, and initiatives tailored to the local needs.
National Ministries
Working alongside regions, our National Ministries (Teens, Young Adults, Family, Music) provide specialized formation, resources, and support across the entire country.
